(partly fold.) 22-23 cmSubject(s): Online resources: Summary: This work was published as 117 booklets of 6 plants each, combined to 10 books from 1802 to 1836. The last volume, number 11, an index of the other 10 books, was published in 1843. Johan Wilhelm Palmstruch illustrated plants 1–432. The plates were engraved either by him or (until 1808) by Carl Wilhelm Fröberg Venus. In 1808 Johan Gustaf Ruckman started engraving the plates. Conrad Quensel wrote the text until his death in 1806, overseen by Kongl. Vetenskapsakademien ("the Royal Society of Science"). From 1806 to his death in 1818, Olof Swartz wrote the text. In 1818, Gustaf Billberg (the publisher at the time) wrote some texts. Billberg's texts were deemed so bad that the Kongl. Vetenskapsakademie refused to continue funding the work, unless they could check the text before print. After that, the texts were written by Göran Wahlenberg. Palmstruch published the work until his death in 1811. From 1811 to 1822, the work was published by Gustaf Billberg. In 1822, Kongl. Vetenskapsakademien bought the rights to the work and Göran Wahlenberg became the new publisher.
